So my first week at Rogers totally flew by. So much to learn….esp. all the acronyms. I’ve start my own database of acronyms otherwise I’d forget them all in a flash. The commute takes me about an hour door-to-door. That’s the worst part, since I’m now getting up at 6am, leave the house by 7am to get to work by 8am. The subway at Finch isn’t so bad since I’m pretty much guaranteed a seat. Also, the weather hasn’t been terribly cold yet so can’t complain. Work is pretty good so far…lots to catch up on. It’s cool to be in the city too…so much shopping and different restaurants. I like the hustle and bustle of the city. My cubicle is right by the window too so I get lots of sunshine. My team is really nice and everyone seems pretty friendly. Now if only I could remember the names of everyone….I’ve been spending a lot of money eating out for every single meal. Hopefully that will change. I’m going to try to change up my routine by eating breakfast before I leave. Although I’m excited about my new job and the opportunities it’s bringing to me, I’m feeling homesick for my friends at Cybermation. Who knew! It doesn’t seem real that I won’t be going back there again. Oh well, I know it’s for the best…the first week is always the hardest!
Other than that, I’ve been trying to keep up with goin to the gym 4x per week. I fulfilled my criteria for this week, so we’ll see if I can keep it up. I’ve come down with a cold which is super fun. Lots of dry-hacking at night.
Last night I went to JW Steakhouse for Winterlicious. It was yummy although I couldn’t finish it all. French onion soup with a slab of cheese on top, angus steak then cheesecake. Hmm could this cold be affecting my appetite? Afterwards, I got schooled at pool in the fob-y area of Markham."It’s OK, I can be with my people." "Oh I forgot something in the car." Right. I forgot how bad I was.
